The second of my Christmas Portraits blog features another family photo-shoot session, this time the brief being to capture natural images of a group of cousins as a gift for the grandparents.
The portrait session was set indoors at the home of the client in Southport, and with a bit of creative ingenuity and some portable studio kit we had the perfect set to take advantage of the soft setting winter sun. Another great benefit of a home setting is that the clients are more relaxed and this fitted well with the session's objective to capture the natural character of the four cousins.
We had some great fun with this photo-session with a mixture of single and group sets adding to the variety of the shoot.
So from the shoot to the gallery of final images, the conundrum now being - colour or black and white. This was a tough choice for the clients, and again we had some fun narrowing it down to the final decisions, which were...
No, I don't think I'll tell you just yet. What do you think, see if you can guess their choice, black & white, or colour? Comment below and I may just reveal the answer..
On a final note a big thanks to the clients, it's always a privilege to be trusted by a family to capture some images that they will hang on the walls of their home and cherish for the years to come, and I hope as they do they'll remember the fun we had that afternoon, modelling in our improvised home studio :)
