This afternoon's assignment, to shoot Swingshift Big Band, an 18 piece jazz orchestra as they wowed a packed audience at the iconic Palm House in Liverpool's Sefton Park.
The full shoot will be featured on both Swingshift's website http://www.swingshiftbigband.org.uk/index.html and on my own portfolio in the next couple of weeks, in the meantime here's a few tasters from the afternoon:
The Palm House is becoming a regular annual haunt for the band, and clearly the word is getting round as people crowded in leaving the staff scrambling around trying to find extra seats.
The band brought the Palm House alive with a mixture of good humour and great music, playing a variety of big band music from modern greats such as Gordon Goodwin's 'Cut & Run' and 'Forever Braver, Forever Stronger' the latter being a tribute written to the 911 tragedy.
What better way to spend an afternoon, chilling out to a great Jazz performance in a beautiful location, that judging from the rapturous applause was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
